Building Our Skills – Making Fenestration, Glass and Glazing a Career of Choice is partnering with Glass and Glazing Products (GGP) magazine to support the publication’s Installer Awards next spring. Building Our Skills is to join the awards’ judging panel, helping to celebrate glazing installers, show-stopping installation projects and the innovations and services that positively impact the installer community.

Commenting on the collaboration, Mark Handley, Building Our Skills’ Partnerships Manager says:

“We are delighted to be part of the judging panel for GGP’s Installer Awards. To have been recognised and asked to play a role in this worthwhile initiative is extremely gratifying. Here at Building Our Skills we cannot emphasise highly enough the importance of practical training, not just as a means of encouraging people to join the fenestration industry, but to stay here and make it their career of choice. We are all about helping to bridge the skills gap that exists in the industry by working closely with employers and other organisations. It’s going to be very exciting to celebrate the skills showcased through the awards, and we wish entrants the very best of luck. We’re totally committed to the initiative, and will do all we can to facilitate its success.”

Charissa King, GGP editor adds:

“It is truly an honour to have BOS support us in this way. As a longstanding supporter of inclusion at all levels of our industry, I admire the BOS ethos and passion for bringing more people into glazing, and tackling the skills crisis our sector faces in the process. Installation is a key area where a lack of replaceable skills is evidently impacting businesses. As BOS is a provider of accredited practical training, it is arguably in the best position to advise on whether the installations we’re judging are of the highest quality. I look forward to furthering this partnership and am grateful for BOS’s support.”

GGP’s Installer Awards are scheduled to be presented on 16 March 2023 at the Midland Hotel in Manchester. Entries will be invited from 4 July 2022.
