From Surveying comes fabrication – the manufacturing of windows, doors and glazed screens for installation into the country’s buildings. Using high-tech machinery and manual skills, the role of a fabricator is to turn the architects or surveyor’s designs into real physical products.

As a fabricator you can learn upto 20 processes which impact and influence the manufacture of the finished product, and you can keep learning from there. Production Managers, Operations Managers and many other key roles within the industry stem from having this in-depth production knowledge. There is a wide range of qualifications available to help you progress your career, there are practical training centres to help you learn, and employers are committed to training and development to support their production operatives.

Talent Recognition Programme

The Building Our Skills Talent Recognition Programme has been designed to assist employers identify and acknowledge potential in their employees at the earliest possible stage.

It is intended to provide a means by which employees in the Fenestration Industry can have their progress and development benchmarked against a well-established set of competency criteria to see how they are performing in their specific roles as newcomers or already established employees in the industry.

The talent recognition programme is not an awards programme in the traditional sense and it is hoped that there will be multiple achievers in each talent recognition category.
